KESHA!!

This small Kiswahili word means an all night prayer time. Last Friday night, one night after the Muslim all night prayer, Victory World Outreach of Dagoretti Corner had a Kesha. This was my first one, so I had no clue what I was in for. I had planned already to only go from 9 pm until about 11:30 / midnight. The night started off very interesting. Firstly, the power to the church and that area was off, so we were running the generator. At about 80 Shillings ($1.20) a liter, running the generator was far from cheap. We had to make two runs that night to fill it up, and one time we filled the gas can up to 19 liters. That was the first challenge of the night. Secondly, one of the guys from the church went to Pastor Safari's house to get 10 liters of milk for tea and coffee. It was in a big plastic container. Pastor Safari lives in the same neighborhood as the church, so his power was off as well. The guy from the church was carrying the milk and he misstepped and fell into a ditch near the house. In falling, the milk container busted open and the guy had to be taken to the hospital. All this happened before we started to pray ... a definite sign that we were being spiritually attacked even before we began. Once we started to pray, we had many different things to do. We opened in a time of intercessory prayer, then moved to me and Evans praying for specific needs, then praise and worship and then preaching. Each time frame was about an hour. I left at midnight, driving with Atacasses, Pastor Paul's gardener. People prayed until 7 or so on Saturday. The Kenyans really enjoy a good Kesha. We attacked the gates of Hell and are pushing forward in the advancing of the Gospel. Pray for the elections in December in Kenya. The race is mainly between the current president and another guy that supports Muslim rights. If the country has the other guy in power, I am certain that there will be a change in the amount of missionaries here.
