Paris, France (July 9-13)

As you read on my previous posting, my arrival to France was one that I have not had before – missing bag and a very late night. Luckily throughout my stay in Paris, I kept the eyeshades from the airplane so that I could sleep through the nights of having people come into the room and turn on the lights. Oh yeah, I was in a room that I shared with 13 other people, plus we had one bathroom with toilet, sink and shower that was all the size of a closet. One night, I remember waking up to the concierge asking me my name because he was short a bed in the room. Anyways, I wasn’t in Paris to spend time in my youth hostel. I came to visit my friend, Agnès, who I met when I was studying in Tours about 7 years ago. She lives in the northern suburbs of Paris with her brother and her younger sister, who is visiting from Guadeloupe. Agnès worked during the days, so I took her little sister around to see the sights of Paris. I had a good time with both of them and I got to see some new parts of Paris. This time, I visited the Musée Grévin, a wax museum. They had many famous French and American figures there. The best place that I visited/frequented was Paradis du fruit, a restaurant where you can eat really good ice cream with fresh fruits. It is the best and I recommend it to anyone that visits Paris; the ones that I know about are near Les Halles and La Défense. My time came to a close in Paris after 4 quick nights and on Friday I left to go to Tours to visit Ingrid, another friend I met during my studies.
